We understand that some may not be able to contribute monetarily, but can contribute by in kind donations such as: gifts of goods, services, or transfer of stock.
What are Gifts of Goods?
Gifts of good are items and/or products that help the production. Examples of goods are: food & drinks for craft service, props, locations, furniture for the farm houses and so on.
We are also in need of pre-production and production crewmembers (catering, production and post-production sound, hair & make-up, costumes, transportation, art department, etc.). If you are interested in being part of the film industry and are looking for experience or are just curious about how movies are made please contact Pin-Chun (213) 610-3525 for further details on how you can be part of the project.
Transfer of Stock
A donation of appreciated stock is a great way to make a tax-deductible contribution to the film. Also, it may minimize capital gains taxes. Your donation of securities will be valued at the average of the high and low values of your shares on the date of transfer.
The American Film Institute is a Non-Profit Educational Institution that has tax-exempt status under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations made to "November 20th, 1982" therefore may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, under section 170 of the Tax Code. All contributions of $250 and up will receive a letter of acknowledgment from AFI.
